I see that Google is dropping Material Design in iOS apps. I'm glad to hear this news. I always felt that it showed respect to the users to show respect to the platform. Use the native U.I. library and write apps that behave like users expect.
When I was at Google, I got a lot of push-back on this. Managers felt that users were Google customers, and would freely switch between their Google apps on their Google web browser, their Android phone and their Apple iPad. I just could not make my managers understand that the managers were describing themselves, not actual ordinary users.
